The Royal Wedding - Part One
As I promised, I am bringing our wedding story alive.
Can I start with: we had the best time and couldn't ask for better five days spent together with our family and friends. We haven't had a wedding in the family for over eight years. Indeed I didn't have any family do on my side of the family for decades! Like we planned, we travelled to Hungary at the weekend to prepare and settle in the hotel by the Lake Balaton.
I was a little nervous since I needed to sort out a few more details with the hotel because I organised the whole event virtually.

I had never even visited this hotel before.
We noticed straight away as we pulled up at the reception that the place was HUGE! Which was not an issue, but it was much more spacious than our expectations.
It was everything that we wanted: wellness/spa facilities, jacuzzis, pools, bowling centre, various bars and restaurants to eat in. The rooms were beautiful and high class.
My first visit had to be: to check the beach area where we were going to have the ceremony.
In a panic, I started texting the hotel manager to ask what was happening, but luckily things got all sorted out by Monday morning, even before we got up.
The good thing about arriving days before the event was that by Tue morning I was relaxed - mind you, Hungary has this effect on me every time I visit back home!
Additionally to our happiness, we had all of the boys with us, which was the best part.
Andy and I have four sons together: Charlie, our youngest; Alfonso, Gianluca and Antonio, the older Brothers from Andy's previous relationship. So it was heartwarming to see them all together with us in a holiday setting - like never before.
We had fun in the swimming pool and saunas, played bowling in the evening, and visited the town and shopping mall for last-minute wedding purchases. Charlie had the best time of his life - having all his brothers around him and sharing fun moments with them.
Little did we know that the Big Day would be even more magical at this point!
To be continued.... in Part Two
PS My father-in-law is referring to our nuptial events as ‘The Royal Wedding’ because we live in Windsor :-) hence the title of the series
